Marconi's Voodoo are known for their fiercely energetic and theatrical live performances and intricate prog-hardcore compositions.

The band established themselves on the UK music scene in the early 2000s after winning a competition in Kerrang! magazine to support Farse at a series of live shows. They also headlined The Zodiac, The Point, The Jericho Tavern, The Bullingdon Arms and The Wheatsheaf in Oxford and played on the main stage at Truck and Charlbury festivals. Despite entering into discussions with a number of record labels, the band remained unsigned.

Marconi's Voodoo are a three-piece, fronted by the flamboyant figure of Snuffy Walden, whose vocal delivery is both militaristic and camp. On drums, Kevin Tozer brings rhythmical echos of John Otto (Limp Bizkit) and Jay Wienberg (Slipknot) to the onslaught, and the band's guitarist and lead songwriter is Steven Colborne, who's riffery and musical creativity draw inspiration from Rage Against The Machine, The Wildhearts and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Revolution is an album that captures the very best of the band. It features four epic rock songs that convey the struggles of the 21st century with angry rebellion. The song 'Revolution' is an anti-capitalist anthem, 'Freud' is a call for sexual liberation, 'Nightmare' laments the misery of the 9-5 job, and 'Doctor Doctor' cries out against corruption in the medical profession.

The album includes some of the band's finest instrumental work, including 'Purple Riot', a structurally intricate song in which Colborne utilizes an octave pedal, 'Beastly Thrash', a live favourite that offers a feast of metallic chuggery, and 'Call to Arms', a punchy headbanger which pulls a riff from The Wildhearts' 'News of the World' and evolves it into its own song.

'Aquarius', 'Mirror Mirror', and 'Circle Master' feature imagery-rich lyrics written by Snuffy and supercharged with the rich sonic sculptings of Colborne. Tozer's drumming brings raw power and energy to the entire album with meticulous employment of a double bass drum pedal and metronome-defying rhythmical consistency.

In a world suffering tragically from the deep depression of slavery brought about by evil corporate dictators, Revolution is an album that offers liberation to the people.

It would be fitting to end the album description with a few rousing words from Snuffy:

"Since the dawn of time it has been written that on this day we would rise up, blot out the sun, rend and tear the skies asunder, and make the streets flow with the blood of the unbelievers. We are Marconi's Voodoo, and no mortal soul shall be spared!"
